Youth of the “Essaouira Mogador Association” Renew Commitment to Coexistence and Civic Engagement
**ESSAOUIRA** — In a move reflecting the growing impact of youth in the cultural and civic life of the “City of Winds,” Inas Boudad, Vice President of the **Essaouira Mogador Association – Junior Branch**, recently drew widespread attention with a remarkable presentation at the historic House of Memory (*Bayt Dakira*).
Descended from a distinguished local family, Boudad delivered a captivating presentation tracing her family’s history and its contributions to Essaouira’s economic and social fabric. Throughout her speech, she highlighted the deeply rooted values of peaceful coexistence and openness that define the city’s unique identity, emphasizing that safeguarding this rich cultural heritage is a vital responsibility that now rests on the shoulders of future generations.
A Journey Sparked by Inspiration
Boudad explained that her entry into community work was not accidental. Instead, it stemmed from her profound admiration for the contributions of fellow young members of the association during events hosted at the House of Memory. Inspired by their energy and dedication, she chose to embark on this journey to serve her city.

“Cultivating the Next Generation of Leaders,”
Today, as Vice President of the Junior Branch, Boudad embodies her belief in the power of youth to drive meaningful change, noting:”Young people represent the cornerstone of the future and play a pivotal role in building open, cohesive societies. Through energy and innovation, the next generation can solidify the values of acceptance and dialogue, countering hatred through concrete initiatives that celebrate the cultural diversity abounding across the Kingdom of Morocco.”

The Junior Branch serves as an extension of the parent Essaouira Mogador Association’s overarching vision: to involve youth in civic life and cultivate a generation deeply aware of the city’s historical legacy of diversity.
A series of structured cultural and social projects
While the branch is currently finalizing its upcoming roster of official programming, its members remain highly active through individual initiatives. Looking ahead, the organization is preparing to launch a series of structured cultural and social projects aimed at:
- Fostering Volunteerism:** Uniting the city’s youth and encouraging active participation in local development.
- Preserving Heritage:** Promoting the historical, tangible, and intangible wealth of Essaouira.
- Empowering Talent:** Providing a dynamic platform for young people to express their ideas, hone their talents, and practice positive citizenship.

By framing youth not just as beneficiaries but as true partners, the association continues to ensure that Essaouira remains a global symbol of coexistence, peace, and cross-cultural dialogue.
